How to secure your team’s spot
Registration opens on Sunday 4 October - you’ll need to be fast!
The Home Nations - World Cup Edition will take place on 3-4 July 2027 at Loughborough Students’ Union. The tournament has scope for up to 70 teams and 420 coaches, which would make it the largest tournament in UK Blood Bowl history.
Fun fact: 420 coaches would be just nine fewer than took part at Europen in Athens!
Veteran Home Nations coaches will be broadly familiar with the drill, but if you’ve never been and you're excited by the prospect of your first Home Nations, this post tells you everything you need to know to secure your squad’s place next summer and join us in Loughborough, where the Blood Bowl is spicy.

How many tickets are available?
We’ve taken up more space at Loughborough Students’ Union, which means the Home Nations Open - World Cup Edition will expand to 70 squads of six coaches, allowing for a total of 420 coaches.
The Home Nations is set to become the biggest UK tournament ever. We’re expecting international squads to fly in from across Europe, and even coaches from Canada!
Demand is expected to be high and places to sell fast. Last year the tournament sold out in nine minutes, so captains will need to be organised!
As Captain, how do I secure my team’s spot?
The squad captain will be responsible for registering the team and securing its place in the tournament. Places will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
There are a few steps you’ll need to complete:
From Sunday 4 October at 11am BST (12pm CEST), captains can register their team at homenationsbloodbowl.com/register
Once the team form has been submitted, you’ll receive an email inviting you to pay the team registration fee via PayPal.
Each team member will then need to complete the coach registration form, which will be shared with the captain.
Once registered, teams will have up to 14 days to make payment. If payment has not been received within 14 days, the team’s place will be released.
Refund Policy
Once your registration fee has been received, you will have 14 days to request a refund, no questions asked. After that, your ticket will become non-refundable but will remain transferable, either by replacing individual coaches within your team or transferring the place to a new team entirely. This is due to the significant financial commitments we make to ensure the tournament runs successfully. See the FAQ for details.
Looking for a team?
If you’re a coach on your own, or part of a squad that’s one or two coaches short, we’ll also be opening registration for a Freebooter Pool for people looking to join a team in advance of the squad registration. (Blog to follow shortly with details)
Captains looking for an extra coach will be able to use this pool, and connect to coaches willing to play so you can be confident you have a full team. We’ll also use it to help cover drop-outs or create Freebooter teams where numbers allow.
Joining the pool does not guarantee a tournament place and no payment will be taken unless a place on a team is confirmed.
Limited Pre-Sale for International Teams
Last year The Home Nations welcomed coaches from fifteen countries across the Home Nations and wider Europe. Traditionally, the Bowl has also allowed us to invite teams travelling from further afield.
To help maintain the international flavour of The Home Nations, we will make 10 team spaces available through an international pre-sale, giving overseas squads an opportunity to secure their place ahead of general registration.
To qualify as an international squad, the majority of coaches must come from outside the UK.
The International Team Pre-Sale will follow the same registration process above and will be limited to 10 teams. Registration opens on Thursday 1 October at 8pm BST (9pm CEST).
How much does a ticket cost and what’s included?
A team ticket for six coaches will be £390 per team. Having held the ticket price at £60 per person for two years, we’ve increased it slightly to £65 to accommodate rising costs. Your ticket for The Home Nations includes:
Six great games of Blood Bowl over two days
Hosted at Loughborough Students’ Union with table service drinks brought to you pitch side (Ed: you do have to pay for these yourself!)
Referees and tournament infrastructure e.g. Tourplay
Lunch on both days
Tournament gifts and trophies for the winners
Optional Sunday breakfast
To set you up for the day, an optional cooked breakfast at JC’s in the Students’ Union can be added during registration for £8 per person, served on Sunday morning before Round 4 begins.
